Enactus OC takes the Sustainable Development Challenge by storm!
When you think of sustainability, what do you think of?
Is it Paper Trail?
It better be!
Enactus Okanagan College members Luke Howe, Chelsey Simmons, Anna Borysova, and Jai Joaquin took to the stage on April 5, 2025, to present Paper Trail in the Sustainable Development Challenge. The team competed against 5 other teams and came out on top, winning $5,000.
Paper Trail is a social enterprise led by Howe and Simmons on a mission to reduce waste by upcycling paper from old textbooks, novels and magazines that are no longer being put to good use. The project creates sustainable and innovative products that promote clean energy, support a circular economy, and minimize environmental impact. To fulfill its mission, the team created an alternative to traditional firewood, Firebricks!
Previous to this impeccable win, Paper Trail took 1st place at Enactus Western Canada Regionals and will be heading to Nationals in May!
